Who’s Allison?
My cooking style is about eating good food, not eating diet food. Over my lifetime I’ve developed a wealth of recipes that follow my three important tenants:
Short lists of ingredients, all of which you can find easily without spending a ton of money.
What good is healthy food if you don’t enjoy it? My food is primarily delicious…. and also good for you without being obsessive.
These aren’t restaurant recipes, you won’t need crazy devices or the ability to julienne. Just follow my tips and tricks and you’ll be able to make these recipes in ANY home kitchen.
Allison Fishman Biography
I studied human development and family studies at Cornell, but after years of practice I realized the way I wanted to keep families happy was by getting them back into the kitchen, back around the table, enjoying good, healthy food together. So I went back to school to learn how to really cook and help people genuinely learn to make delicious food at home.
Since then, I’ve written about how to cook, why to cook, and what to cook for a ton of publications. I’ve been teaching people to cook through “The Wooden Spoon” for 5 years. I’ve used television to help communicate, hosting “Cook Yourself Thin” on Lifetime, and appearing on The Today Show, Good Morning America and The Early Show among others. I’ve spoken at conferences and expos around the US, and I’ve helped major brands like Kraft put delicious recipes together featuring their products. I’m now the author of “You Can Trust a Skinny Cook”, my encyclopedia of go to recipes.
Now I’d love to help you! Either by using the recipes and advice you find on this site, or by working for your brand to help you create more deliciousness, or speaking to your organization about Healthy Living or Home Cooking. If you’re interested, please contact me for more information or see where I’ll be next.
